I've always struggled a little with interpreting Jupiter - the cliche of it bringing opportunities and good luck hasn't really tied in with my experience of it. However, I recently plucked up the courage to look at the synastry between my ex-wife's chart and my own, in the hope of gleaning what might have gone wrong, and something struck me.My wife has Pluto and Uranus in her fifth house. Our relationship began as a friendship but as Jupiter conjunct her Pluto things began become more emotional and obsessive. Then Jupiter hit her Uranus and *bang* it all blew up. She left her then-partner and we became an item. We got married. We had kids.
Twelve years later and Jupiter's beginning the same transit. It hit her Pluto in the fifth house and she became infatuated with a guy at our kids' school. Then Jupiter hits her Uranus and *bang* it blows up. We divorce. She's now in some kind of on/off limbo relationship with him.
During the fall-out Neptune has been conjunct my natal Jupiter. It certainly feels as though all Neptune's unreal attributes have enhanced themselves within me and my experience of the world to the nth degree.
Maybe its a subtle distinction, however I'm wondering if Jupiter is less about "good luck" as he is inflating dramatically the qualities of what he's transiting for good or ill - almost like the cosmic equivalent of someone pushing down one of those cartoon TNT detonators.
Apologies if this has been discussed to death - please feel free to move to "Beginners Astrology" if need be.
